Partner ORGANIZATIONSMetropolitan detroit Ski Council |
Formed in 1957, the Metropolitan Detroit Ski Council is today made up of 20 clubs, including ours, 7 business members, and 2800 enrolled individuals that participate in year-round social and sports activities. In addition to skiing and snowboarding these clubs, like ours, organize events throughout the year such as canoeing, white water rafting, picnics, hiking, horseback riding, dinner theater outings, golfing, biking, camping, movie premiere nights, in-line skating, and rock climbing to name just a few. Members enjoy discounts on ski and snowboarding equipment, plus trips and events, and they participate year-round in activities that promote social interaction and friendships. The Ann Arbor Ski Club is a member of the MDSC and therefore our active (paid-up) members have the privilege of joining other MDSC clubs on their trips or at their events as if they are a dues-paying member of that club, which expands the range of options for members substantially. Guess what! MDSC is itself a member of a larger organization, The National Ski Federation. MDSC is one of nine regional Central councils. There are 29 councils nationwide. MDSC covers Michigan, but also extends into Ohio and Ontario. Click here to visit the MDSC's website |
