Taste and Glide
A Top XC-UP Destination
 Hosts: Jan and Lane Hotchkiss
|
Update February 11, 2024
The Taste and Glide ski event features a small lodge with food, music, drink, and merriment for only $30. The whole event is a blast.
You can go up any time, but a lot of us go up Thursday, (February 27 this year) and ski Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Some stay overnight Sunday.
I have reserved 10 rooms for the AASC with a 10% discount. The regular rate is $169, but the rate we have is $156 plus 10% tax per night.
You can call the AmericInn at 906-387-2000 and ask for room reserved by Norman Lane Hotchkiss.
My advice is to reserve a room very soon, before February 18 as I have to cancel reserved rooms after that. If you later can’t go, you can call and cancel it 72 hours before arrival.
I need you to let me know if you reserve a room under my name because I have to release rooms not reserved by February 19.
Please be sure and let me know if you cancel, as I will also have to cancel the room from my reservation list.
Please let me know if you need a roommate or want to car pool. I know one woman would like a roommate and a man that can take several in his vehicle.
Write or call me if you have any questions.

About Valley Spur
Valley Spur is a favorite Alger County destination for dedicated cross-country skiers and snowshoers. It is located on M-94 approximately 5 miles west of Munising, Michigan in the Hiawatha National Forest.
The 27-mile cross-country trail system is groomed daily or as the need arises from December through March so that the trails are always ready.
All trails are groomed for both skate and classic ski.
Valley Spur usually enjoys a deep snow base thanks to heavy accumulations from the lake effect off Lake Superior.
