2027 Alpine Ski trips and European Cruise

The club has been busy planning for skiing and non skiing trips for 2027. We are excited to announce that we will be going on a European Cruise in October 2027, see the details below...

Alpine Ski Trips

2027 will see us returning to some of our favorite destinations. Lodgings at all three locations have been reserved and confirmed. Final pricing for Airline and ground transportation is still underway, and the trip's financials are still subject to final board approval.

Snowmass (Aspen) Feb 20-27, 2027. Crestwood Condominiums. Ikon Pass Resort. Trip Leaders Cheryl Anderson and Greg Robinson

Whistler March 6-13, 2027. Delta Whistler Village Suites. Epic Pass Resort. This is a new location for us in Whistler. Condo style accommodations, complementary ski valet at the foot of the gondola, and free shuttle service (less than a ten minute walk). Trip Leaders Dan Flynn and Ed Brambs

Vail March 20-27, 2027 Vail International Condominiums. Epic Pass Resort. Part of Lions Heads, we stayed there last year. A short walk to the bus stop, and less than 10 minutes walk to the hill. Trip Leaders Lisa Salisbury and Jim Kelly

Full Details will be published on the website along with the contracts in April. Watch for the announcements in the newsletter and a text alert (if you have signed up for them). Signups will be at the Aloha party on Thursday, May 21. Process will be similar to last year, details on signups will be included with the posting of the contracts. If you can't make the meeting, find another member to stand in for you at the signups. Each member can sign up one additional member. Discounted Epic and Ikon passes are available from though our tour operators, details will be available with the trip contracts.

Mediterranean Cruise: Italy and the French Riviera

The club is excited to offer the following cruise...

Departing Barcelona October 8, returning October 18 2027, with the following itinerary: Barcelona - Naples, Sicily, Rome, Florence/Pisa, Portofino, Nice, Barcelona.

Travel will be on the Celebrity XCL, one of their newer ships. Signups will begin online on April 11 at 12:00 noon. Contract documents and detailed information on the cruise will be available on the website by Saturday, April 4th. At this time, we are only taking reservations for the cruise itself and the deposit of $250 per person will be fully refundable if you elect to back out. Details will be in the contract. Rooms reserved range in price between $4,084-$4,614 per person. Airfare will be an added option when it becomes available in the fall, and a possible pre or post stay in Barcelona is being evaluated.

From Our President

We wrapped up our club’s ski season with a great trip to Telluride. Cheryl and Greg did a wonderful job, with two Après Ski events, a welcome party and the traditional leftover party. We stayed in Mountain Village, which is about half way up the mountain. The condos were very nice and our shuttle service was top notch. We could phone them until 11:00 or so, and they would arrive within minutes.

The town of Telluride itself was about 2000 feet lower than Mountain Village and was easily accessed via gondola. Most people on the trip went into town a 3-4 times. There were lots of interesting shops, bars and restaurants to peruse. Additionally, there were several hiking trails and a waterfall to explore on “off days”.

Telluride, like all of Colorado and Utah, suffered from a snow drought. The resort was able to keep most of the trails going until Friday, when access dropped off considerably. Most Greens and Blues were available all week, skiable Blacks were in short supply, especially as the week wore on. Despite the snow, everyone had a great time, capped off with wins in both basketball and hockey for the UM faithful.

Be sure to attend our election meeting April 30th and vote the bum(s) out!! In all seriousness, it is very important that we get a good turnout, so we can have a quorum. Please attend.
