A New Year's Message From the President

Dear Ann Arbor Ski Club Member-- and Guests!

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a good holiday and that the New Year finds you healthy and in good spirits.

I am writing primarily to remind everyone that we are having our first General Meeting of the New Year tomorrow, Wednesday January 16, 7:30 to 10:30 pm at Cobblestone Farm.

It’s been over a month since our last meeting, and since we are having only one meeting each month over the next three, I hope that you are able to attend tomorrow’s and catch up with your friends, or make some new ones.

The club will be providing beer, wine, soft drinks and deluxe snacks.  DJ Paul will provide music.  Cost to members is FREE; non-members $5.

Future Meetings Our meeting schedule for the remainder of this season;

  • Wed 16-JAN          Cobblestone – DJ
  • Wed 20-FEB          @ Mt Brighton
  • Wed 20-MAR         @ Revel & Roll, Ann Arbor (Just added!)
  • Wed 03-APR          Cobblestone – Annual Business Meeting & Election, DJ
  • Wed 17-APR          Cobblestone – Aloha Party, DJ

PLEASE NOTE that the February and March meetings ARE NOT at Cobblestone Farm.  All meetings run from 7:30 to 10:30 pm

Ski Trips……  Sixteen of us recently returned from the club’s first trip of the season.  We had a great time and good conditions for both downhill and cross-country skiing at Shanty Creek.

This Saturday the club leaves for Steamboat.  Two weeks after that is the Terrace Inn weekend in Petoskey.  The Aspen trip departs February 9 and the season concludes with a trip to Sun Valley Idaho on March 2.  Most of the trips are now full, but things change and spots open up.  Check our website to find out who to contact if you are even a little bit interested.

…… and Beyond!  After the ski season ends we will be looking to return to biking and canoeing, among other activities.  It is still preliminary, but the club is looking at the following weekend trips.  Please note that we are ALWAYS looking for volunteers to help with the trips and all our other activities.

I hope to see as many of you as possible at Cobblestone Farm on Wednesday, or on the slopes in the near future!
