Ann Arbor Ski Club White Water Rafting Trip Four years ago the Club did an awesome rafting trip on the Gauley River in WV, but this time around it will be on the Youghiogheny River (The Yawk) for our white water rafting action. The trip date is leaving AA at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 1 and returning Sunday, October 3 at 9:30 p.m. Rafting options include: The Upper Yough, class V white water action, one of the best rivers for white water in the east with over 20 major white water rapids for adrenalin pumping fun; and The Lower Yough, class III-IV, one of the most rafted sections of the river, very fun and and still very exciting, but more low key than the Upper. Ann Arbor Ski Club White Water Rafting Trip If you're not up for rafting, we have other options available for the weekend. Biking: Once a train tract, the Allegheny Bike Trail meanders beside the Youghiogheny River for great river and canyon views with a restored train station and photographs of the past located at various stops along the trail; Fishing: The Middle Yough is one of PA's best trout and small bass fishing rivers; and Hiking: with over 79 miles of trails within the Ohiopyle State Park, there are spectacular vistas of mountains, waterfalls and river gorge to experience on your hiking adventures. Our lodging is located on beautiful Lake Lenore with hiking, volleyball, bonfire, and catch and release fishing right at our door. The surrounding area is very historic and we will experience that with a visit to a winery in a 1880's bank barn, and a group dinner in one of the original wayside inn's dating back to 1822. On the bus trip back, we will be stopping at Cedar Point to experience Halloweekend. This yearly event dresses the park in Halloween garb with a parade and shows geared toward that theme. But, don't forget all the ride action (7 hours of fun)! The park boasts an unheard of 17 roller coasters (more than any place in the world), with three of the top 10 steel coasters in the world, all for our enjoyment!
